Bristol Post 19 is proud and honored to be able to be a home for not only our Legion Family, but a gathering place and offer a support mechanism for a lot of community-based organizations that share our common goals and interests. Among those regular guests are:
- Sod Busters Horseshoe Club…The Sodbusters Horseshoe Club, located in Bristol, Vermont, the gateway to the Green Mountains. Our club was organized in 1966. Sodbusters Horseshoe Club is an NHPA-sanctioned league club, and hosts several tournaments throughout the year. We have 16 clay pitching courts (to be lighted for night play sometime later on). We are located on Airport Drive. Just look for the road to Mt. Abraham Union High School or the American Legion — our pits are right behind the legion. Learn more about us and contact us at www.sodbustershorseshoeclub.com.
- Champlain Valley Agency on Aging….. Since 1974, CVAA has been providing nutrition and supportive services to seniors. We take our direction from the older people we serve. We do not charge for any services provided, but we do encourage people to contribute toward the cost of the service if they are able. Bristol American Legion Post 19 is a meal site host on Wednesday of each month. We eat, we socialize, we have lots of fun…join us! Please call Barb Prime at her home phone, 453-5114 to reserve your meals, or 1-800-642-5119 ext. 610. Free local transportation to the Bristol Legion. Call ACTR at 388-1946 to arrange your ride.
- Boy Scouts of America…Boy Scouts of America Troop 543 is Chartered by the Bristol, Vermont American Legion Post #19. We are in the Ethan Allen District of the Green Mountain Council. Come see us at www.bristolvermontboyscouts.org.
